Our Mission
Our mission is to advance understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying complex diseases, including infantile haemangioma, keloid, vascular anomalies, meningioma, and glioblastoma, and to translate these insights into effective treatments through innovative approaches such as drug repurposing and patient-derived models. Powered by community generosity, we bridge the gap between laboratory insight and clinical impact to deliver hope where it is needed most.
Driving Change Through Research
Despite being a small organisation, we are making waves on a global scale. With a diverse, passionate group of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and experts from New Zealand and across the globe, we are driving groundbreaking research. Our work isn’t just appearing in top journals, it’s laying the foundation for future treatments that have the potential to transform lives. We collaborate with universities both locally and internationally to push our discoveries forward. We partner with New Zealand-based companies such as AFT Pharmaceuticals turn these innovations into accessible treatments.
What truly sets us apart is our connection to the community as a “neighbourhood research institute.” We open our doors to the public, inviting people to tour our labs, meet our dedicated team, and see firsthand the life-changing work we are doing. It’s this personal connection, this transparency and accessibility, that makes us unique.
