Dr Trevor FitzJohn
Dr FitzJohn joined the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute Board in 2017.
Trevor has had a long association with the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute’s Dr Swee Tan and has been part of multi-disciplinary teams working to find better ways to treat life-threatening and disfiguring conditions.
Acknowledged as one of New Zealand’s leading radiologists, Trevor’s work was recognised with the award of Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to radiology in 2016.
He is responsible for the introduction of several radiology services to New Zealand and the Wellington region. He has been a consultant radiologist for Capital & Coast District Health Board (now Te Whatu Ora), a radiologist and Managing Director of Wakefield Radiology, and was Chair of Pacific Radiology Wellington and a long-standing board member of the Pacific Group.
He initiated radiology involvement in the treatment of vascular anomalies and, since 1996, has been co-Chair of the Centre for the Study and Treatment of Vascular Birthmarks. Since 2010 he has been Chair of Cyclotek Pharmaceuticals.
