Trevor Jeffries

Since being introduced to Dr Swee Tan by my father, Sir John Jeffries, I have followed his career for over a decade and his work on strawberry birthmarks in children.  My father, along with Sir David Beattie, were the founding Patrons of the Institute, and I heard firsthand their passionate belief in the research and the people behind it.

My family and many others I know have lost loved ones to cancer.  After a lifetime in education, equity of access to medical treatment for children is very important to me and this is a core aspiration of Gillies McIndoe for everyone. Through their groundbreaking research Dr Tan, and those around him, have shown a commitment to achieving that.

It was suggested that I continue my father’s support for the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute, as Margie Beattie is continuing her father’s.  Having met more of the incredibly talented people who work at Gillies McIndoe, I am proud to be an Ambassador.
